Bringing up a toddler can be such hard work; there are toddler tantrums and the terrible twos to name but a few! But what about all those special moments, the moments that make your heart gush with pride and emotion. These moments makes all the tantrums and sleepless nights worthwhile.
Well, Cow & Gate Growing Up Milk are going one step further and encouraging us parents to not only remember the special moments, but instead to make Extraordinary Moments out of everyday play. It’s sometimes all too easy to forget about how important the everyday, normal is. I’ve been proactively capturing those ordinary moments and making them extraordinary.
Benjamin and I have our own little routine worked out on Thursdays and Fridays; we drop his big sister at school before coming home to play. We often do odd jobs and the food shopping, eat lunch, Benjamin naps, we play some more and then 3 O’ Clock is here and it’s time to leave to pick up Isabella.
This week, I’ve made a conscious effort to not just play with Benjamin but to fully immerse myself in play. We’ve been astronauts flying to the moon, monsters trudging through swamps, the Gruffalo in his cave and so much more. We have made these ordinary moments extraordinary and gone on some exciting indoor adventures. We’ve both had a good giggle at ourselves too!
Having captured a couple of these moments, I’ve gone on to upload an image of Benjamin to the Extraordinary Moments website and create a wonderful storybook. A link is emailed to you no later than 24 hours after you have submitted your image all ready for you to re-live at bedtime.
For toddlers, there seems to be nothing more interesting than looking at and reading about themselves. Cow and Gate Growing Up Milk have made this so easy; you spend 1 minute uploading an image and writing your names and then Cow and Gate Growing Up Milk do their magic and email you when the storybook is ready.
Benjamin has had lots of fun and really loves watching himself as the story unfolds. So, if you’d like to make some ordinary moments extraordinary, head on over to the Extraordinary Moments website now!
