Frugi Organic Clothing

If you haven’t heard of Frugi before, you’re in for a treat today! Frugi offer the most gorgeously designed organic clothes for your little ones. It started out in 2004 as a family run business called Cut4Cloth catering for the extra room required when using cloth nappies; the business spiralled until in 2008 Kurt and Lucy decided to add kiddies clothing (up to 10 years) and nursing ranges and re-branded themselves Frugi. Frugi use organic cotton which is super soft and kind to your little ones skin but more than that, it’s good for the planet too.

I’ve honestly lost hours browsing through all their amazing clothes; luckily I was asked to join the Frugi Family this year and review one of their new spring /summer pieces – how could I say no to that!

Now, I’ve always been a sucker for dungarees for both girls and boys and so I just had to get the cute sailing dungarees for Benjamin. I thought they would look beyond cute on and also be practical and lightweight in the summer because let’s face it, clothes can’t just look cute, especially on newborns as you need to change them several hundred times a day (ok well that might be a little exaggeration but sometimes it feels like that many!)

The sailing dungarees are really soft and flexible so are easy for Benjamin to wear. At only 7 weeks he’s still got some room to grow in the dungarees but that just means I can make the most of him wearing them throughout the summer – I even got him some little boat shoes to match!

Because they are short dungarees, there are only four poppers between the legs which makes changing really quick and easy. The adjustable buttons at the top are easy to fasten but aren’t too hard and don’t stick out unlike some other dungarees clasps which is perfect for a little bod who likes to nap a lot. It has matching button detail down each side and of course has the beautiful appliqué boat on the front; the attention to detail is amazing and the product itself is so well made. It washes well and stays really soft.

These dungarees are really practical and we’ve worn them out a lot already – they were even our first choice for our trip to Legoland as I knew if it got too hot I could take off the vest underneath or conversely, I could add layers if it was cold. These really are a versatile and gorgeous item.

Having a little girl and as I’m breastfeeding too, I have been looking at their other ranges and have to say I am totally in love… I think I’ll be adding a couple of dresses to my shopping bag for both Isabella and myself (shhhh!) Here’s what I’m looking at.

Now, I’ve been looking at the newborn range but click on over to Donna’s blog What the Redhead Said to see what she thinks of the 1-2 years range.
