Getting ready for the snow

I’ve mentioned Aldi’s Specialbuys range a few times before now and I have to say, I’ve never been disappointed. Their ranges have always been well made and even better value and their new Ski range is no different.

I’ve been testing out the ladies ski jacket which is windproof, waterproof and breathable. If you are using this as an actual ski jacket (I don’t ski but will use it throughout winter), it has a key card pocket on the sleeve for easy access, elastic inner sleeve cuffs, inside mesh goggle pocket, snowbelt, MP3 pocket as well as side zipped pockets and ventilation opening.

The coat is really warm without being too thick as it uses DuPont Sorona wadding which is a renewably sourced fiber. It’s exceptionally soft, has brilliant warmth retention and good compression and recovery properties.

I love the bright red colour as you tend to see a sea of grey and black during the winter months and to add any splash of colour on a grey morning helps me smile. And at just £19.99, it makes my smile even brighter!

I’ve also been given the roll neck top to try out which is made from a stretchy, soft touch material (82% polyester, 13% viscose, 5% elastane). It has a hydrophilic finish which regulates body moisture and keeps you warm during the winter. This is just £3.99 so you could get a couple to wear under clothes on a really cold day or for your winter ski break.

Benjamin has been trying out the infant’s snowsuit on the school run to keep him warm and dry. He has the navy design in 9-12 months which means his suit incorporates rollover mittens and feet to keep them super warm and dry.

It’s available in three designs, grey, navy or red and are suitable for children 3-36months. It’s really warm and has a lovely soft fleece lining. It’s water repellent as well as being soil repellent (which is always a bonus). It’s breathable and allows for rapid drying too which is perfect for snowy weather.

The hood has a slight elasticity to help keep it up when in use and looks really cute on. For £9.99, it’s a really good buy.
