Adding new flavours to your kitchen with Santa Maria’s new Latin American Kitchen Range

As a busy parent, I’m always on the hunt for tasty food that’s simple to prepare but flaverful and yummy too. The new Latin American Range from Santa Maria has been perfect for adding some heat and flavour to our wet summer so far.

There’s a great range of cooking sauces, rice, seasonings and more to help you add some Latin American heat to your dinner tables.

We were kindly sent some cook-in sauces and rice to try all with varying heat scores. For the children we stuck to the mild and we even found that some of those still had a little kick to them.

I’m not a huge hot spicy fan so I left the hot sauces to my husband to try out. Over all we were really impressed; they were all full of flavour. All of the sauces are perfect for two to share. They come in foil pouches, which help to keep them as fresh as possible. I love that they are the perfect size for sharing too as often the children like slightly different flavours and we end up having half-full jars in the fridge.

The whole range are quick and simple to prepare and most take around 15-20 minutes. You brown your meat and add the sauce! What could be easier? The rice can be popped in the microwave and pinged to make the perfect meal for the whole family.

Our favourite meal has been the Brazillian XinXim Peanut Sauce with coconut and chilli rice. Although it looks quite bland on the dish (more to do with my lack of presentation skills I think!) it was packed full of delicious flavour with just enough bite to it to not overpower the meal. What’s more, there’s a simple recipe online so you can really feel inspired.

The XinXim sauce is a zesty peanut sauce with lemon & ginger – it’s a true Brazilian classic. Simply pour over chicken and serve with rice from our Latin American Kitchen range.

1. Heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil in a frying pan. Add 300g diced chicken breast and fry over high heat until well browned.

2.Reduce the heat, add the contents of this sachet and stir well.

3.Simmer for 2 minutes, or until fully cooked. Serve with rice from Santa Maria Latin American Kitchen range and salad.

I’ve been hugely impressed with this range and I can’t wait to try out some more tasty treats over the rest of the summer. The Latin American range will be rolled out over the summer and will cost between £0.99 – £1.99.
