Photobox Soft Baby Photobook

photo 3If your baby or toddler loves looking at photos but they haven’t quite learnt to be ‘gentle’ yet, this might be your solution; a soft, cuddly photobook that they can call their own.

It’s a square book, 21cmx21cm an comes in a choice of five beautiful colours (blue, pink, red, green and sand) although on the product details page it looks like there is a purple option, there doesn’t seem to be when you start creating the book. You also have the option of adding text on the front of the book (I was super original – I choose to have ‘Isabella’s Photo Book’)

You can choose to have either 4, 8, 12 or 16 pages in your book and you can use 1 image and caption per page. I think these books are perfect for two things:

  1. If you don’t live close by family or friends and you want your little one to be able to recognise faces and to put names to faces when you are talking about them.
  2. To be really imaginative and create a personalised story for your little one to enjoy.

I really love the idea of both and as a compromise decided to create a short story of Isabella’s first year by adding captions underneath pictures of important people in her life. She absolutely loves her book, as does her cousin, and they will quite happily flick through the pages and trying to name all the people in there.

photo 2It’s really well made and perfect for toddlers who haven’t quite worked out how to turn pages softly; it’s also perfect as no matter how many times she kisses the pictures (with dirty mouth or snotty nose) it doesn’t damage the image. Even better than this, it’s machine washable at 30ºC.

Admittedly this is quite an expensive product. For 4 pages you are looking at £24.99; 8 pages is £30.99; 12 pages is £36.99 and 16 pages is £42.99 but I think this is the sort of thing you could give as a gift for a special occasion and it’s certainly something that will be treasured for years to come.
