Father’s Day inspiration

With Father’s Day fast approaching the children and I have been thinking about what we could do for Ed to make his day special. The children actually decided that they wanted to do something with Daddy as well as get him something this year so our theme for this Father’s Day is family.

Making Memories

Although we are celebrating Ed, it’s the children and family that make him a father so this year, we are celebrating our family on Father’s Day by spending the weekend together at Somerset Yurts luxury glamping park.

Nestled on a working Dairy Farm, we are going to be spending a couple of nights in one of the safari lodges (Ed’s still not 100% convinced when it comes to camping with the kids) with very limited technology, going back to basics with games, good food and fabulous views of Taunton Vale. Our full review will be up after Father’s Day so you can see what we thought and what we got up to.

Something to Treasure

Keeping in with the family theme, and because we are currently in the middle of building our new extension, we have a personalised family print that we are going to hang in the new dining area. We have given this to Ed a little early so we could get his reaction and it’s a huge thumbs up from him.

We all really love the cartoon design of this family print. It captures us as a family without being too serious. You can choose each family member’s body outline, choose their clothes colour, facial expression (mouth) and their hair style as well as choosing the colour scheme, size and format of your piece. We have the 16” x 12” print in the 20” x 16” black frame.

What I loved the most was that you could see an instant preview of your design so if you weren’t completely happy with your choices, you can adapt them and change the colours and expressions until you are happy. I had a play around with the clothes colours and our hair styles until I felt I’d captured all of us perfectly.

The quality of this product is brilliant. If you choose the framed option, your print will be professionally framed in a 100% solid wood frame. It’s professionally sealed and taped up to protect the print and it comes ready to hang. The print is printed on quality satin photostock and the end result is stunning. This is such a gorgeous gift for the children to give as it means a lot and will look amazing for years to come.

If these aren’t quite for you but you’re still after something a little more quirky and completely different to your usual socks and mugs, have you considered a houseplant? Ok, so definitely not your usual Father’s Day gift but one that will brighten any space, be it in the home office or bathroom, it’s bound to be a talking point in your home. For Ed, we thought a stunning Kentia Palm from Beards & Daisies was manly enough to give as a gift to brighten his office a little.

You can choose between two sizes: Medium W18cm x H100cm, Large W24cm x H120cm and it comes brilliantly packaged ready for you to put straight into a gorgeous display pot. The Kenita Palm is child and pet friendly and also super low maintenance. This is also one of the best plants for improving air quality, removing toxins such as formaldehyde, ammonia and carbon monoxide from the air.
