Bakerdays Letterbox Cake : Review

We were lucky enough to be sent a lovely little letterbox cake through the post for Isabella’s 6th Birthday last week.

Although I had already made a cake for her birthday party the week before, it was lovely to come home from a few days away to a cake ready and waiting for my big girl’s birthday. Although Bakerdays have a huge variety of cakes for all occasions, they were also kind enough to change the wording in our chosen cake to suit us.

I was a little apprehensive about how well it would survive in transit but it held up surprisingly well. I opened the sturdy box to a bubble wrapped, breathable tin with the sweetest little cake inside.

Lots of choice

We chose a traditional sponge cake with the obligatory unicorn on the icing although you have the options of: traditional sponge, rich chocolate chip, red velvet, gluten wheat free sponge, dairy free sponge and fruit cake.  Our cake looked amazing and tasted great too. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the cakes can also stay fresh for up to 14 days so you can have your cake delivered in advance too.

There are cakes for all occasions available but even if you don’t see something you like, the designers at Bakerdays are more than happy to come up with a design especially for you.

Our cake was perfect for sharing between the four of us on Isabella’s birthday. It was so handy to be able to have the cake delivered to the door although I should just mention that it is designed to fit through the letterbox so the cake isn’t huge. It’s perfect for sending to a friend or family member who you aren’t likely to see on a special day.
