Gift Guide for Adults

Alcohol

The Summerton Club, set up just over 3 years ago, now offers you the chance to get delicious and beautifully-aged bottles of Whisky, Brandy or Rum delivered directly to your door each month. In this monthly subscription package, you are sent a different bottle of spirit which is at least 50cl each month from around the world. The idea is that you are sent items that would prove difficult or impossible to buy in the UK so you get to taste new and exciting flavours.

There are several different packages you can buy; monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly. Regardless of which you choose the cost works out at £50 per delivery (each bottle will be worth at least this amount). The bottle we were sent last year was from Sweden, Mackmyra’s Gruvguld. It is sourced locally, including the oak used for the barrels and aged in a variety of casks 50m below ground. Gruvguld (meaning Gold from the Mine) is exceptionally smooth Swedish Single Malt Whisky has a spicy oak taste which then turns quite fruity. It went down very well!

To keep in with the theme of alcohol, these personalised glasses and gift sets from The Personalised Gift Shop are brilliant. For Ed, who does love a good whisky, this Jack Daniel’s Measure Gift Set is perfect. A little tongue and cheek the suggestion that his measures are a little on the large side will bring a laugh or two at Christmas. It comes beautifully presented in a silk lined presentation box with a mini Jack Daniel’s too. I know this tumbler will get a lot of use.

It wouldn’t be fair to let Ed have all the treats though so this beautiful Crystal Cut Personalised Gin Glass is perfect for me. With my name engraved across the glass, there is no way anyone will mistake this for their own. Made from lead free crystal, being reinforced and breakage resistant as well as dishwasher safe makes this a huge hit in my house. Although this glass doesn’t come in a presentation box, you can easily get a lovely box to make this the perfect gift for gin lovers this Christmas.

For those hardest to buy for

I find sometimes it and be really hard to buy for loved ones because we are fortunate enough to have a lot of things we want and need. This is where Red Letter Days come in. You can buy an experience for those who are hard to buy for. They can use the voucher whenever suits them and it won’t go collecting dust until the next clear out! Ed is very much into his golf and so we’ve got the professional golf lesson and 18 holes for him this year. I’m hoping that, even though it’s a little way to travel to, he’s really going to enjoy this experience.

Jana Reinhardt Jewellery can be a real luxury gift this Christmas. I was sent this beautiful Lioness and Cub Necklace which would make a lovely gift for any mother this year. The company started in 2006 and is a family run company. As a lover of shiny things, these items really stood out to me. Every item is micro-manufactured in their seaside workshop in West Sussex. The Lioness and her Cub Necklace is from their African Collection and has such detail. I love the meaning behind the lioness – being in charge of hunting and feeding their pride, this can resonate with many mothers.

Around the home

An Amazon Echo is also a great choice. We’ve had ours for a little over a year now and this hands free and responsive device responds to just your voice. You can control what you listen to instantly (that is until the children override us!). You can also make hands-free calls and can also keep up with the latest sports scores or even ask Alexa a question. This smart technology is perfect for busy home and both adults and children use this daily.

For Doctor Who fans, this Tardis desk tidy would make a super fun gift. A perfect replica of the police phone box that travelled through time is durable and detailed as well as being functional. Whether for a home office or taking to work to add a little personal touch to your desk at work, this is great. IT stands at about 24cm tall and is spacious enough to hold all your stationery. The top of the Tardis opens on a hinge so you can put all your things inside with ease and as an added bonus, you can even open the doors to get the full effect of what you have stored inside. A fun gift with plenty of functionality.

Keeping Busy

If you like to be kept busy, this 1000 piece Falcon de luxe puzzle (with additional puzzle free!) will keep you occupied for a while! Crazily addictive, you will not want to stop doing this puzzle. Santa’s Special Delivery was gorgeously  illustrated by the very talented artist, Daniela Pirola. Each puzzle is die-cut to ensure a beautiful poster like finish. Perfect for adults and even little elves liked helping with this one. The two puzzles come in separate bags too to ensure they don’t get mixed up.

When you’ve finished puzzling, you might need some moistuising hand cream. This SEAMS hand cream with Shea Butter, Macadamia Oil and Pragonia Oil would make a lovely stocking filler for any hard working hands. It smells gorgeous, absorbs quickly and is non-greasy making this a perfect choice for a soothing, repairing hand cream. It was originally designed for seamstresses to help repair sore, dry and pin-pricked hands without leaving any grease on the fabrics but now all hardworking hands can benefit from the luxuriously moisturising cream.
