Using Bedspreads to Make a Cosy Bedroom this Winter

With winter coming and the mornings turning rather chilly, my thoughts always turn to making the bedroom more cosy. One quick, simple and cheap way to cosy up your bedroom is looking at your bedspread.

I love quilted bedspreads personally. For me, the quilted style adds warmth and extra layers with the weight needed to feel super snuggly in bed. The quilted bedspreads are great because they offer an even distribution of filling over the entire bed.

As well as being amazingly warm, adding a bedspread to your bed can add instant glamour or a much needed revamp of your tired looking room. You could choose to add a pop of colour or go for a fun pattern. Whichever you choose, you can instantly transform the look of your bedroom.

Choice isn’t limited to style either, you can choose from soft and cosy fabrics such as cotton, polyester and wool. You might even choose more synthetic fabrics for the fact that they resist those pesky wrinkles and help keep your room looking fab all winter long.

Take a look at some of my favourite designs in bedspreads from Yorkshire Linen here.

For an opulent look, why not try the Catherine Lansfield Jacquard in Champagne? It offers a luxurious design with a timeless appeal edged in premium velvet. This bedspread will instantly make your room feel cosy and look expensive but without a hefty price tag attached to it.

If you’re not looking for pattern but instead looking to inject a splash of colour, the Snuggle Touch Amber Bedspread could be for you. I love the bright colour this one offers as well as how soft it is. This one is lighter than the previous bedspread so if you don’t like the heavy feeling, this is one to look for.

If you like bold prints and colour, this Catherine Lansfield Banbury Floral Lemon design is beautiful. It will keep you warm and snug as well as adding some elegance to your bedroom. You can choose whether to have this as your statement piece or pick a colour from the design to continue the theme throughout your room. The modern floral design is easy to coordinate with other items to complete your look.

One of my favourite colour schemes at the moment is ducky pink and grey so this E Shift throw would be the perfect colour combination to create a warm and inviting winter look.
