OXO Good Grips Cookie Press Review and Competition

photo 2 (13)So today has definitely been a rainy/haily day so we’ve been staying in and baking. I love a good excuse to bake and a rainy day like today was a perfect excuse.

Isabella is very inquisitive and just at the age where she takes pleasure in understanding how things can be made from lots of different things so baking is a great experience for her as she can be involved in creating cakes/biscuits from the start and can see the whole process.

We have been trialling out the OXO Cookie Press today and after a few minor issues to begin with (all human error!) we had great fun baking.

Okay, I’ll admit it, I got over excited and mixed up a chocolate chip cookie mix before actually thinking logically about the process of using the cookie press; the chocolate chips where far too big to fit through the small cookie cutters! So, I had two choices, eat all the cookie dough and start fresh or make two different types of cookie. Well we delighted in a little bit of both! (YUM)

After the first mishap, (and closely followed by the second – no baking paper!) we were back on track and ready to use the cookie press with a few substitutes in place. I scooped the cookie dough into the press and after a couple of, let’s just call them trial runs, we were ready to go.

I couldn’t believe how easy the press was to press and how easily the cookie dough came out in the right shape – even when Isabella tried it! Ok so they didn’t last long as she kept getting so excited that she poked, pulled or simply stole the cookie dough but the whole process really is so simple.

I finally managed to get a few batches ready and in the oven (only one burn too! I’m getting better) and we waited a few minutes before taking them out and letting them cool down ready to have a taste.

The thing I like about baking cookies is how quickly they cook; there’s no long wait so toddlers can see the activity through from start to finish without getting bored and are excited to see the end result. Isabella had great fun doing this and especially loved sneaking some cookie dough while I wasn’t looking. A fab activity for families to enjoy.

We’ve been lucky enough to team up with OXO to give you the chance to win a Cookie Press with Disk Storage Case so you can enjoy rainy days as much as we do.
