Top 5 Destinations for the Most Luxurious Cuisines in the World

If you’re anything like me, you love exploring new and exciting cuisines. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you discover something that blows your mind.

That’s why I’ve got a bucket list of places I want to cross off after I’ve tasted their delectable cuisine.

So without further ado, here are the top 5 places on my list – and they’re sure to have you jetting off on a luxurious holiday in no time at all!

  1. Ithaa Undersea Restaurant, Maldives

You’ll find this restaurant 16-foot below the sea level of the Indian Ocean, with 180-degree views of sharks and coral reefs for you to enjoy while you’re eating. The restaurant’s only big enough for 14 guests, too, so you know you’ll have unprecedented views of the stunning ocean (not to mention the food!).

The menu costs approximately $320.

  1. Alain Ducasse au Plaza, Athénée, Paris

The interior design of this restaurant takes your breath away, with stainless steel pods (aka shells) for diners to sit in and a ceiling adorned in ornate chandeliers. The menu is just as intriguing as the décor, featuring healthy, environmentally-friendly options including vegetables picked fresh from the gardens in Versailles.

You can expect to pay up to $230 for a starter and around $50 for a dessert.

  1. Per Se, New York City

You may struggle to get one of the elusive reservations at Per Se, but all your efforts will be more than worth it. The menu starts with the signature ‘oysters and pearls’ dish before being followed by eight more courses where you won’t find the same ingredient twice.

The price per head is $325.

  1. SubliMotion, Spain

Situated in the Hard Rock Café in Ibiza, this restaurant is reserved for 12 people at a time with each visit costing an eye-watering €1,500. You do get 20 courses, though, and these are produced by Paco Roncero, a Michelin-starred chef who marries technology, art and food to bring show-stopping culinary experiences.

  1. Aragawa, Tokyo

If you love meat, this is where you want to head as Aragawa is renowned for serving up some of the best meats from around the world. This includes the premium Sandra variety of marbled wagyu that’s as indulgent as they come.

Dishes range from around 28,870 JPY to 34,650 JPY.

As you can see, you do need to start saving now to venture to any of these places but with culinary, visionary and sensory experiences around every corner – you get what you pay for.
